On Saturday 20 June 2026, the Beaune branch of the Société Astronomique de Bourgogne (Burgundy Astronomical Society) will be holding two free public observations on the Place Carnot in Beaune town centre.
These two observations will bring the 2025-2026 season to a close, before the solar eclipse on 12 August 2026.
The first observation, from 3pm to 5.30pm, will provide an opportunity to observe the sun in complete safety.
The second observation will take place at the same location, in the evening from 10pm, and will introduce you to our satellite, the Moon. Using instruments, you'll take a walk on the seas or in the mountains and lunar craters.
You'll also discover the summer constellations and their legends, galaxies, stars at the end of their lives, nebulae and star clusters.
