A procession in Venice
In Vivaldi's time, Venice sparkled with its processions, combining popular songs and ancient polyphony. A master at evoking ancient worlds, Vincent Dumestre recreates the atmosphere of one of these ceremonies, where fervour and contemplation meet. The programme culminates in the Nisi Dominus, the red-headed priest's masterpiece, performed by the brilliant mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik.
