We all know the mantras we repeat to ourselves to keep going. In New Orleans, they prefer gris-gris. On 4 December, at La Lanterne Magique in Beaune, Go Go Gris-Gris are releasing a whole EP full of them: *I’m Ready Now!*. Sun-drenched songs, tailor-made for smiles and dancing, which you carry with you like a mantra to keep you moving forward. A release party, with warm brass and a generous groove: an evening to be experienced on your feet — ready to make you, too, ‘ready now’.
Hailing from Burgundy, Old Ma Crackers breathe new life into the spirit of American jug bands with a decidedly contemporary energy. Drawing on the traditions of blues, folk, jazz, country and ragtime, the band revisits the rich repertoire of Americana, blending communal singing, instrumental virtuosity and irresistible dance rhythms. Curious and inventive, the musicians also explore traditional music, particularly that of the Morvan region, to fuel an original creative vision where folk heritage and experimentation intersect. Combining a warm, friendly atmosphere, improvisation and the joy of sharing, Old Ma Crackers deliver a generous, festive and unifying concert, celebrating the full vitality of folk music.
