Arômes des caves de l'Hôtel-Dieu

In 2023, the theme of the cultural programme of the Hôtel-Dieu des Hospices Civils de Beaune is Hospitality. For the Month of the Climats, the Hôtel-Dieu is offering the ""Ateliers des sens"" activity, which consists of 2-hour visits and workshops with Marie-France Bravard, creator of the Ateliers Vins & Parfums, and a mediator from the Hôtel-Dieu.

This event is organised in two parts: a visit to the former cellars of the Hôtel-Dieu to explain the notion of "Climat" - the history of Burgundy vineyards and the place of the Hospices Civils de Beaune wine estate - followed by a practical multisensory workshop. By linking the methods of the perfumer and those of the oenologist, Marie-France Bravard will introduce each visitor to six key aromas of the Hospices' wines. She will guide the visitor through this initiation to the world of wine perfumes: olfaction of raw materials, memorization of odours and blind tasting of nectars and jams.
