Fresco workshop
Roman houses are often decorated with murals, usually painted a fresco. This technique consists of painting with natural pigments, without binders, on a damp plaster of lime, sand and water, which dries to fix the colours permanently. The Romans also worked a secco or a tempera, applying pigments, this time bound with egg, to a dry plaster made of lime and marble powder. Archaeologists have found these decorations in the form of small fragments, notably during excavations at the Gallo-Roman town of Alesia. With fresco artist Lina Faillancier, create a secco motif to take home with you.
At 10.30 am, 12 noon, 2 pm, 3.15 pm and 4.30 pm - Duration: approx. 45 min.
